Case Study: Displacement Ventilation To Production/Packing Hall For A Leading Snacks Manufacturer

The client operates a combined process and packing area in a single storey high ceiling building. Full fresh air ventilation was existing but was of a poor design with high level supply and exhaust.





Penmann redesigned the system to obtain maximum benefit from the existing plant with new additional capacity to further improve conditions within the space.

The existing supply systems were converted to displacement type supplying air through new terminals suspended just above the production floor.

The displacement option enables the heat removal capacity of the system to be almost doubled for the same volume of air, with the added benefit of reduced temperatures in the occupied space.

The improved air circulation increases the dilution effect which significantly reduces the build up of fumes from oven/fryers at low level in the occupied space.
