When Burtons Foods found they had issues with baked product being susceptible to high humidity. They called on the assistance of Penmann who they had worked with for 20 years.
The solution proposed by Penmann was the creation of a segregated conditioned space in the production area. This involved building an insulated room in a very confined area to ensure maximum insulation but also to allow full personnel and maintenance access
The room was supplied with air from a dedicated Air handling unit designed to create the ideal production conditions using the principal of direct expansion dehumidification.
The project was undertaken in a tight timescale and involved working within a fully operating factory. The project was completed on time and on budget.
