Westmill Foods – Upgraded Ventilation System
Westmill Foods approached Penmann to upgrade the ventilation system in their spice blending facility. Their priority was maintaining positive pressure in the blending room while integrating the new system with their existing dust extraction infrastructure. Additionally, the system had to operate efficiently throughout the year, balancing between seasonal air conditioning needs. Penmann delivered a solution that utilised ambient air for cooling during summer months and internal air in winter, significantly cutting energy consumption. The system was designed to provide consistent airflow across multiple levels, including areas above and below the new mezzanine platform. The integration of the textile sock distribution system ensured that air was delivered evenly throughout the space while optimising the air balance within the dust extraction system.
The upgraded system maintained the required positive pressure, provided significant energy savings, and improved overall air circulation, all while staying within budget and project deadlines. Full case study available here.
