I have worked with Penmann for more than 10 years across various project sites in the UK and can confirm that their knowledge, professionalism and quality of work are of the highest standard.

A project completed for me whilst working at McCain Foods had to tackle a large cutting and optical sorting deck. The area had been expanded over the years through the installation of more equipment and different processes to the point where the environment on the deck had become hot and humid. The humidity was causing problems with optical sorting cameras, the building fabric and the ability of the operators to concentrate in such unpleasant conditions.

Penmann reviewed the humidity levels, tramp air sources and air flows in the area and designed a system which brought fresh tempered air into the environment and through strategically located roof exhaust fans and extraction canopies pulled the air across the entire cutting / sorting deck.

The air handling units installed externally were fitted with steam coils prior to the mesh filters to ensure that any freezing air particles in the winter would not collapse the intake hoods – a simple trick missed by most competitors.

The system was designed to be as energy efficient as possible and dependent on external temperatures would ramp up and down based on the relative humidity levels and the air’s ability to absorb moisture.
