Colin Walker Celebrating His 70th Birthday at Penmann

This year, we are delighted to celebrate a very special occasion as Colin Walker marks his 70th birthday, continuing his long-standing contribution to the business and the wider cooling and HVAC industry.
Colin remains an integral part of the Penmann team, bringing decades of experience, technical knowledge and consistency to our system design function. His continued presence within the business reflects both his personal commitment and the value he brings to colleagues and clients alike.
A Career Built on Engineering Expertise
Colin’s career in engineering spans several decades, beginning with eight years in general mechanical and structural engineering. This early experience provided a solid technical foundation, which he then developed further during 18 years at Airedale International Air Conditioning.
During his time there, Colin worked extensively in research and development, focusing on the design of air conditioning and chiller systems. This period played a key role in shaping his approach to engineering, combining practical understanding with a strong focus on performance, efficiency and reliability.
When Colin joined Penmann in 1999 as a System Design Engineer, he brought with him a depth of knowledge that has continued to influence the business ever since. Over the years, he has played a central role in the development and delivery of bespoke cooling solutions across a wide range of sectors.
A Lasting Contribution to Penmann
Colin’s impact on Penmann extends far beyond his technical capabilities. Over more than 25 years with the company, he has contributed to the evolution of our systems, processes and overall approach to delivering engineered solutions.
His work has supported projects across food production, manufacturing and industrial environments, where precise temperature control is essential. Through careful design and attention to detail, Colin has helped ensure that systems operate efficiently and consistently, supporting both product quality and operational performance.
