Delivering High Risk Area Ventilation for UPB Products Ltd
Here at Penmann, we are pleased to have delivered an Industrial Ventilation and pressurisation solution for a high risk area at UPB Products Ltd, creating a controlled environment to support safe and compliant operation.
The project required a practical and reliable approach to maintain positive pressure within a defined space, preventing the ingress of unfiltered air through multiple access points, including hatches and a sanitising tunnel. Maintaining clean, controlled airflow was essential to protect the integrity of the area and support operational standards.
Working closely with the client, we designed and installed a solution centred around an external air handling unit, supported by a purpose-built ductwork system. By supplying filtered air into the space at a controlled rate, the system maintains consistent positive pressure, ensuring that airflow is directed outward through any openings.
A key aspect of the project was achieving the required level of filtration. The system incorporates staged filtration, ensuring that all air entering the space meets the specified standard and supports a clean working environment.
The ventilation installation was completed using spiral galvanised ducting, carefully configured to deliver balanced airflow across the area. Positioning the air handling unit externally allowed the system to operate effectively without impacting internal operations, while still delivering the required performance.
Once installed, the system was fully commissioned by our engineering team to confirm airflow, pressure and filtration levels. The result is a stable, controlled environment that operates reliably with minimal input from site personnel.
This project demonstrates how well-designed ventilation systems can play a critical role in maintaining controlled environments within manufacturing facilities. By focusing on airflow, filtration and pressure control, we were able to deliver a solution that supports both safety and operational performance.
