Upgraded Ventilation System for Westmill Foods
Westmill needed an economical ventilation solution to maintain positive pressure in their spice blending room, while integrating with an existing dust extraction system.
Challenges: The system had to balance airflow across multiple levels in a space constrained by a new mezzanine, while reducing energy costs during seasonal changes.
Solutions: Penmann designed a ventilation system that used ambient air for cooling in the summer and internal air in the winter, avoiding the need for additional heating. A textile sock distribution system ensured even air delivery above and below the mezzanine, integrating seamlessly with the dust extraction system.
Outcomes: The solution maintained positive pressure, optimised air circulation, and achieved significant energy savings, all while staying within budget and on schedule. full case study here
