If you follow or know Penmann you will be aware that Giving Back to others less fortunate than ourselves is a central pillar of our values as a business.
Each time we are fortunate to receive an order from our clients we like to share part of our success with those less well off. This month 2 charities were chosen by the team – because they represent values and passions we hold jointly as well as personally. Both received a substantial donation.
Zarach, Leeds
Teacher BexWilson founded Zarach Leeds – dedicated to giving ‘Every Head a Bed’, on discovering that many children in her classes had no bed of their own. Featured on BBC’s The One show she deserves nothing but praise for having masterminded the delivery of over 1,400 beds to children who would otherwise go without, give them a good night’s sleep and an equal opportunity at school.
Heads Up, Somerset
Our second charity is based in Wells, Somerset. Heads Up provides activity-based learning and development workshops for adults experiencing mental ill health and dementia, as well as those with learning and physical disabilities. There’s a communal kitchen and light, well equipped work spaces plus extensive gardens and large seating areas are a refuge for contemplation.
We are keen to support Heads Up as they are located close to and supported by our good client Charlie Bigham’s and because they support those challenged by mental health issues.
