Rapid Refrigeration Cells for Yoghurt Pallets

Penmann announces largest ever rapid chilling contract

Penmann is proud to announce its largest-ever contract win with one of the UK’s foremost yoghurt and dairy producers. This landmark project, set to be completed in late 2024 or early 2025, will see Penmann deliver an advanced cooling system at the company’s flagship production site, marking the largest contract of its kind in the UK and potentially the world.

In partnership with global refrigeration leader Clauger, Penmann will integrate state-of-the-art Cooling Cells into a multi-cell system designed to cool a wide range of yoghurt and dairy products. These Cooling Cells, which are widely recognised for their energy efficiency, will form a tight seal around each pallet, ensuring rapid cooling with no air bypass. The system is capable of bringing products to below 5°C in less than an hour, offering a significant improvement over traditional blast chilling methods.

This innovative cooling solution will not only enhance production speed and maintain product quality but also reduce energy consumption, leading to substantial operational cost savings for the dairy producer. With more than 3,700 Cooling Cells already in use worldwide, this installation will make the client a leader in advanced dairy cooling technology.

Penmann’s Managing Director expressed pride in this achievement, stating, “This contract underscores the trust our client has placed in us over the past 23 years and showcases Penmann’s ongoing commitment to innovation and technical excellence. We are excited to be leading this project, which will set new benchmarks for the industry.”

As the project moves forward, Penmann looks forward to delivering a world-class solution that will shape the future of dairy production, both in the UK and globally.
