Team Behaviours. Do they matter?

FRIAR Behaviours debated by the team

They do to us all at Penmann.

Why? Because Behaviours are the way in which one of us or the whole team, acts or conducts ourselves, especially towards others – colleagues and customers. Also important to remember that Behaviours are the practical application of our company Values and how these are supported by our day-to-day actions. We care about how others perceive us.

Our current set of 5 company Behaviours were identified back in 2017. Since then there have been one or two monumental global and local changes that we felt should be put in context:

  • Covid
  • New Team Members
  • Working from home
  • Changes in our marketplace – more pressure on food manufacturers
  • Cost of Living challenges
  • Employment challenges

Our current Behaviours made a neat acronym: FRIAR: FRIENDLY RESPECTFUL INTEGRITY ADAPTABLE RELIABLE.

(Maybe you were the lucky recipient of one of our FRIAR Penmann branded Mouse Mats?!)

What did the team feel about them when we met recently to debate them? Interesting and lively discussions ensued and we all agreed to make some changes to ensure relevance and cohesion. We’ll be sharing these with you soon.
